When travelling it can be quite difficult to find quick places to stop at to get a somewhat nutritious bite to eat. Has anyone found any fast food/quick places that serve decent healthy food?

Chipotle is an old favorite, I feel pretty good after eating there I find. They don’t have that many locations though. Tim Hortons, at least in Canada, has a decent chili as well.
It’s honestly pretty hard to find decent fast food, and is definitely a gap in the market I think. There are some places in Toronto that aren’t bad, but as for on the road it’s pretty hard to find a place that isn’t sit down that has healthy food.
Also, I’ve heard of people just going into McDonald’s and ordering burger patties, which honestly aren’t too bad for you as far as I know. Plain burger patties might not be the best meal though, but maybe if you got creative there you could spruce it up!

I mean, I’d be kind of wary of McDonald’s anything. The issue for me is the preservatives and hormones. Things are given to the beef to fatten them up so that more patties can be made. Cows generally speaking are actually quick scrawny animals, but they get pretty damn big when given things to intentionally get them to put on extra pounds.
That said, I suppose Chipotle is good, yeah. I gotta agree with you, Matt. If money isn’t too much of an issue for you, the keg or a steakhouse isn’t too bad of an option. But that makes a lot more sense for me, because I eat practically entirely carnivore.
I think it’s important though to differentiate between being “health-conscious” and being a “health optimizer.” If you’re okay with the former then your options are quite a bit more vast than the latter. If you do fall into the more strict group though, perhaps embracing a 24-48 hour fast might be your way to go…

I think it’s more about doing the best you can if you really need some food. Fasting is only really practical sometimes. If you have a meeting where you need to be on your toes and need some food to keep you from being fatigued and McDonald’s patties are the best you have and you can avoid industrial seed oils and processed wheat flour then I say go for it. I’ve heard their meat isn’t too too bad, but would need to research the impact of the hormones and preservatives.
I think Greg was more asking for fast food, the Keg would be sit down which could work at the end of the day, but maybe not for breakfast or lunch on the go between stops.
It’s pretty sad it’s so hard to find healthy fast food when it’s not very difficult to do!

Thanks for the answers boys! I agree Matt, it is pretty sad that there aren’t more healthy fast food places availible. The only one that I even know of that markets themselves as being healthy food is Freshi, but thats more rabbit food than anything.
Seems like theres a pretty huge gap in the market, especially with people seemingly starting to care more and more with what they put in their bodies. One has to wonder what health conscious people who constantly have to travel for work are doing to get by.
