Will be really interesting to hear your report on the carnivore diet in a few weeks!
I’ve been doing pretty well lately, but like you, I’ve felt some stress creep into my life over the last few months.
I’ve recently decided to start actively combating this, and have been making some headway. The practices of gratitude, meditation and stoicism have been helping me a lot with this. Also, trying to disconnect a bit more from the constant blast of social media and news.
I personally like to try to take a pause every once and a while throughout the day when I get really stressed and remind myself of this little mantra: “no matter what I will be okay.” It hasn’t not been true to date!
Thanks for the contribution, TinyCactus, and welcome to the forum!
That liver recipe sounds a whole lot better that eating it raw!
I’ll let Spencer answer your question about the nutrient loss, since I am clearly the rookie when it comes to liver in this thread!
Matt, I usually like to stick to the basics. Nothing satisfies more than a hearty Sheppards Pie, plus its loaded up with pretty much everything you need!
My tip, that one of my roommates recently told me, is to put some sage in the ground beef, it really completes the flavor. You also can’t go wrong with sprinkling a little grated cheese on top during the last 5 min of baking.
Hahaha, great thread Spencer!
I’ve personally never been much of a believer in aphrodisiacs. It always seemed like using sex to sell snake oil to me.
Very interesting reading about your experiences there though, Matt!
Good suggestions boys. We should definitely incorporate some of those topics in the future!
I think UpRiver is missing a way for the community to engage. I’m not quite sure how to do it just yet though.
Yeah, Im with Spencer, fixing my sleep schedule yielded huge results.
For a long time I would stay up late every weekend and sleep in super late. It would take me about a week to get back to sleeping regularly after that, just in time for me to go out and do it again.
Trying to go to bed at a consistent time and waking up at a consistent time every day has been a big boost to my overall energy throughout the week.

Yes, you guessed it. I’m a big stoicism fan. I found once I internalized the idea of being able to endure whatever life decides to throw at me, my overall outlook and quality of life vastly improved.
I think the key to happy and successful life is having infinite endurance.
Thanks Matt, can never go wrong with steak and butter!
Liver though, that can be a bit harder to stomach. Do you have any methods for preparing yours that are more….edible?
